@AJMSNAPPER: Based in Cambridgeshire, UK, Adam J. Merton is a dedicated documentary photographer and proponent of 35mm film.
Adam's extensive journey in photography began as a staff photographer for a local newspaper, an experience that instilled a strong, narrative-driven approach to his work. This early career was followed by diverse roles in medical and martial arts magazines, as well as extensive work in wedding and portrait photography. This background, often collaborating with other creative professionals, shaped his unique perspective.
Style & Approach Merton's photographic signature is his commitment to the documentary style, viewing himself as a visual storyteller. His work is almost exclusively presented in monochrome (black and white), a choice that strips away distraction and emphasises the core narrative. This focus on story allows his portfolio to naturally span diverse genres—including street, landscape, and architecture. He has also found a natural progression into sport photography, with a focus on rugby, echoing the coverage he provided earlier in his career.
Today, Adam's primary focus is personal: shooting for pleasure, recording his travels, and capturing the world through his unique, monochromatic, and inherently documentary eye.
