Adam J. Merton

Photographer

@AJMSNAPPER: Adam J. Merton is a documentary photographer and 35mm film OG from Cambridgeshire, UK. He started his career as a local newspaper staff photographer before moving on to work in medical, martial arts magazines, weddings, and portraits. Embracing his creative freedom, he now works as a freelance photographer, often collaborating with other creative professionals on exciting projects.

Merton's style is intentionally documentary, based on his early days as a newspaper photographer. He likes to think of himself as a "storyteller," which is why he works mainly in monochrome (black and white). This does mean that his work is varied and drops in and out of different photographic genres: landscape, street, architecture, etc. However, his work always has a story element to it.

In recent years, Merton has been dabbling in sport photography, specifically rugby. This is a natural progression for him, as he covered many football, rugby, and cricket matches for the newspaper in his early days.
